Rotary Nene Valley – Fire Bowl Donation
The Queens Platinum Jubilee Beacon Lighting on Thursday 2nd June also marked the reopening of the Campfire Circle at Overstone.
A project that started before the pandemic, it has a had a general tidy up, new fencing and seating have been installed as well as a fire bowl, which has been kindly donated by Rotary Nene Valley. The fire bowl is a great addition to the Campfire Circle as it controls the size of the fire which ultimately provides a safer environment for the Young People sitting around it.
Malcolm Dyer the Overstone SASU Manager expressed his thanks to the support Rotary Nene Valley and all its members give not just Overstone Scout Campsite & Activity Centre but Scouting in general in Northampton. It is welcomed and appreciated. We look forward to welcoming members of Rotary Nene Valley to Overstone later in the year for one of their regular meetings where we can demonstrate how their support is used to benefit Young People in Scouting and other local youth organisations.
